If you and your *better half* are ready for a night on the town that is more than just a restaurant, this post is what you have been looking for. I am going to share 5 of my and my partner's favorite date spots as local Twin Cities residents! Ill cover my number one date night last, so read through the end of the article.

Date Idea #1 - Up Down Bar, Minneapolis
The first date night that you and your significant other need to check out is Up Down Bar in Minneapolis. This is an arcade bar that has all sorts of games ranging from Ms. Pac Man to ski ball to Donkey Kong. Plus they have an upstairs outdoor patio that has oversized Jenga and Connect Four.
Special local tip: check out this spot on a Thursdays when they offer 10 cent tokens!
Date Idea #2 - kayak adventure on the mississippi
For the adventurous couples out there, I highly recommend taking a kayak adventure on the Mississippi! There is this awesome website where you can rent out a kayak and all the gear that you need! You can book the reservation online and you pick up the gear in a giant locker at one of the designated spots (think of the amazon package locker pick ups at Cub). They have different routes planned out so you can pick the distance and time frame that works best for you.
date idea #3 - wabasha street caves, st. paul
If you arent up for the athletic adventure, but are up for a historical adventure you need to book a tour over at the Wabasha Street Caves! This is the ONLY remaining restored Gangster era site in MN.
- They have their standard historic cave tour for only $11 per person (1 hour tour)
- Saint Paul Gangster Tour Package - $50 per person for a 3 hour tour, and you get to see the hot spots that gangsters used to hang out in St Paul back in the day plus you get the tour of the historic cave.
date idea #4: upstairs circus, minneapolis
The next date idea is perfect if you like to try a crafty project paired with a cocktail. This spot is Upstairs Circus! This is a crafters and DIYers dream night. You and your significant other can choose between 25 different projects ranging from Concrete Coasters (that you make from scratch) to string art to a leather dog collar! All the meanwhile, you can be sipping on one of their custom cocktails.
I specifically recommend their coco contortionist. When we visited, I chose to do a fun customized bar necklace, but dont be fooled the projects arent as easy as they may seem. You have to be patient and actually follow the project steps.
date idea #5 - can can wonderland, St. paul
The last date night spot you have to check out is Can Can Wonderland. This is by far my favorite date night because it is the most special to me. It was the spot of mine and my boyfriend's very first date.
Can Can Wonderland features a large indoor mini golf course. Each hole was designed by a Minnesotan artist which I have always thought is crazy cool. My favorite hole is #15: Grandmas Living Room - youll want to check it out in person. They also offer a full bar that has specialty boozy milk shakes to keep the night going. They do offer adult only hours as well.
Now that you have a few new, fresh ideas for date night, you dont have to get stuck in the rut of just trying out another restaurant.
But now that you have been out and about for the date night, you might be getting hungry in my next blog I will share the top restaurants for couples in the Twin Cities!
